Junction City Little Theater to Preform Jesus Christ Superstar

The Junction City Little Theater will be presenting Jesus Christ Superstar a rock opera that depicts the last week of Jesus’s life through the eyes of Judas starting Friday at the C.L. Hoover Opera House.

Steve Hornbaker, JCLT Veteran Director is back to Direct the show. He operaexplained that he has a 35 member cast for this years show.

“We’re having to double up some roles because we actually needed more people in the cast than that, but in order to put it on we had to kind of disguise and put them in different roles at different times to do different things. I think we’ve done that pretty effectively,” says Hornbaker.

The show will run both this week and next on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Friday and Saturday shows will be at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday shows will be at 2:00 p.m..

Hornbaker also noted that music enthusiasts should treat the show as a concert because they have an orchestra that is, “second to none.”

“We have eight strings in our orchestra, Directed by David Bernard-Stevens who is the instructor of violin and music at the high school. He has put together an orchestra that is fabulous. We have a professional guitar player playing the guitar leads. We have members of the 1st Infantry Division Band who are professional musicians playing many of the instruments in this show.”

Tickets can be purchased at the C.L. Hoover Opera House box office forĀ $18 Adult / $16 Military / $11 Students (18 and Under).
