The Kansas State Wildcats have been chosen to finish fifth in the Big 12 this season.
In the Big 12 Conference volleyball preseason poll of conference coaches , K-State garnered 35 points. That was 10 points behind No. 4 Oklahoma and four points ahead of No.6 Baylor.
Defending conference champion Texas was voted No.1, earning all eight possible first-place votes. Kansas Was picked to finish second, and Iowa State third.
Kansas Stat entered camp returning seven letterwinners from last year’s 18-11 squad, including three starters. They include redshirt sophomore Katie Brand, senior Chelsea Keating, and sophomore Kersten Kober.
Brand was the lone Wildcat na,ed to the Big 12 Preseason Team. One of two setters selected, Brand is coming off a 2013 campaign in which she was the only Big 12 freshman to average more than 10 assists per set. She also led all Big 12 setters in kills, blocks and points.
