Rodeo – Fair Set to Open in Abilene

The Wild Bill Hickok Rodeo begins at 7:30 Wednesday night and runs through Saturday night in Abilene.

Some of the events featured will include bull riding, bareback riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, team roping, and women’s barrel racing. The Wednesday evening performance includes bull riding, saddle bronc riding, and barrel racing only, while the rodeos Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights will include all seven events.

Tickets are on sale at locations, including Rittel’s Western Wear and West’s Country Mart, at the gate, and online at www.ckff.net. Tickets are $10 in advance for adults and $12 at the gate. Children’s tickets are $6 for ages 6-12.

The Rodeo is held in conjunction with the Central Kansas Free in Abilene. The fair activities run Wednesday next Tuesday. The annual Western Parade is scheduled at 4 p.m. Thursday. It runs through downtown Abilene from 7th Street & Buckeye to 3rd Street & Washington.

Other scheduled events will range from a carnival and to an auto demolition derbies.abilene fair
