A Texas woman was transported to Geary Community Hospital this afternoon following an accident near mile post 294 on west bound Interstate 70.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol a semi truck driven by Mohamad Rahman, 38, of Brooklyn, New York, rear ended a 2013 Honda Civic being driven by Jinzhong Zhou, 73, of College Station, Texas, at approximately 1:05 p.m. Thursday.

After being rear ended the Honda spun and went down an embankment, coming to rest facing west. The semi truck came to rest on the right shoulder.

A passenger in the Honda, Xi Wu, 75, of College Station, Texas, was transported to Geary Community Hospital with possible injuries.

The KHP did have the right hand lane of west bound I-70 closed for a short period of time. Everyone involved was properly restrained according to the KHP.
