Police Arrest One in Junction City Shooting Case

Junction City police responded Tuesday evening to the area of 440 West 6th Street, Wendy’s Restaurant, in reference to shots fired.  Upon their arrival they discovered shots had been exchanged and all parties that were involved had left the area.

Police had learned a short time after receiving the call that shots had been fired that a man had arrived at Geary Community Hospital saying he had been shot. Authorities learned the man, who has not been identified, had received a non-life threatening injury, and was treated and released.

During the investigation the parties involved in the shooting were located and interviewed. Police said one person, Robbie Dewayne Fountain Jr., 21,  was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in the case.

Fountain was escorted to the Geary County Detention Center where he was held without bond pending first appearance in Geary County District Court.

Police said the investigation continues.
