Among all of the changes at this years Sundown Salute in Junction City, one of them will include a new fireworks show.

Bennett Fireworks of Junction City will be putting on this years show and Roger Bennett said that it’s something he’s wanted to do since he first started putting on firework shows.

“When we started doing shows we talked like we would like to get the Sundown Salute show, and it worked out,” Bennett said.

Bennett has been putting on shows all across the area since the early 1990’s and is most recently known for his shows following Junction City Brigade baseball games. He explained that the Sundown Salute show will be much bigger than the shows he puts on for Brigade games.

“Length will be longer but there will also be a lot more shells in the air.”

Bennett estimated that the show will last about 15 minutes and they will be firing off approximately 4,000 shells.

The show will start Friday night at 10:30 p.m., and will be fired from the 6th Street viaduct.
