The majority of recreation sites at Milford Lake are open.

Even though a toxic blue green algae warning advisory has been issued for the northern part of the lake, north of Farnum Creek, the remainder of the reservoir is clear and under no restrictions.

The Assistant Director for the Geary County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Rick Dykstra has issued a statement pointing out the numerous open areas include Farnum, Rush, Curtis, School, Kemp Creeks, and the Laurel Canyon area.

Multiple beaches are open include Dedication Point, Milford State Park, West Rolling Hills, Thunderbird Marina beach, and Cedar Estates swimming beach. The Jet Ski beach is also open.

The portion in the warning area does include the City of Milford Boat Ramp, Military Marina, Clay County Park Boat Ramp, Nudie beach, Flagstop Park beach and the Swimming beach at the ORV area.

In a warning area boating and fishing are allowed, but not activities where you come in contact with the water such as swimming, jet skiing, or tubing.
