Playing for the first time in six days the Junction City Brigade opened up a three game series against the Rossville Rattlers Thursday night with a 5-3 loss.
Both teams scored one run in the first inning and it remained tied into the
bottom of the fourth inning when the Brigade’s Wade Hanna scored off of a single by Tyler Tucker.
Junction City would add another run in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 3-1.
Rossville’s Ellery Bresnahan drew a walk in the top of the sixth inning and scored on a single by Tim Schaareman to get within one 3-2.
The Rattlers took the lead in the eighth inning scoring two runs making it 4-3 and then added one more in the top of the ninth inning to make it 5-3.
Junction City wasn’t able to get anything going and ended up falling 5-3.
Rossville’s A.J. Doolittle picked up the win for the Rattlers and Andrew Riddell got the loss for the Brigade. Rossville improved to 4-11 and the Brigade fell to 8-6 on the year.
Junction City will host the Rattlers again Friday and Saturday night, first pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. both nights.
