ABILENE – First responders were called to a truck accident on eastbound Interstate 70 near mile post 280 just after 8:30 Wednesday morning.
The crash was in a construction zone near Abilene.
A guardrail was damaged and removed, and traffic was detoured while a wrecker removed the semi from the scene. That work has been completed.
Eastbound traffic has been returned to I-70 head to head with westbound traffic.
The damaged guardrail is being replaced. While that is under way traffic will be slowed and flagged through the work area, but will remain on I-70. Following the installation of the new guardrail traffic will return to normal flow through the Interstate 70 project work area.
