The 3rd Annual Governors Freedom Rally will be in Junction City Saturday at Heritage Park.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. with vendor booths opening in the park. The
opening ceremony with Governor Sam Brownback is scheduled for noon according to Connie Hall, Geary County CVB Director.
“The Governor will be addressing the crowd at that point. At 12:30 there will be a wreath ceremony at the Kansas Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and then at 1:00 p.m. the Governor’s ride through Fort Riley will begin,” Hall said.
The ride will go through Fort Riley’s historic main post and finish back at Heritage Park.
The Rally will benefit five non-profit causes according to Hall.
“One of those is Brothers in Blue Re-Entry Program, Soldier and Family Assistance Program formally called the Wounded Warriors Fund, Army Community Services, the Native Stone Scenic By-way, and the Flint Hills National Scenic By-way.”
More than 1,000 motorcyclists are expected to attend Saturday’s Rally.
