The Junction City Municipal Pool will open for the summer Saturday.
The pool’s sand filtration system was replaced over the winter months and
is now fully operational and ready for opening day Saturday. The filtration system began to fail last summer leaving uncertainty if the pool would remain open. City staff was able to keep the system running for the remainder of the summer.
Thanks to a generous donation from two local residents, Josephine and Ruth Rago, the city was able to purchase the new system.
Ashley Stopper, Pool Manager told JCpost.com Thursday that the new system is working good,”So far it’s been really good, our waters been really clear, probably the clearest it’s been in a few years. We’re just going to have to wait and see how the rest of this season goes with it being the first season with these filters.”
The pool will be open seven days a week from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. Admission is $3 per person, infants 18 months and younger are free.
Session one swim lessons will be held from June 2nd through June 12th. Session two will be June 23 through July 3rd, and session three will be July 7th through the 17th. All sessions will meet at 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 7:15 p.m.. Parent toddler classes meet each session from 6:15 to 7:00 p.m..
