Fort Riley will be hosting a run for the fallen event May 17th at the Riley’s Conference Center.

The event is to honor and commemorate those who have sacrificed for our country. Runners, walkers, strollers, and pets are welcome to the un-timed family friendly fun run.

The course will wind through historic main post and will feature both a four mile route and a two mile route.

The two mile route will go through historic housing and turn back at the Old Trooper monument by Calvary Parade Field. The four mile route will continue to the Post Cemetery before turning back on Huebner Road.

Along both routes will be displays honoring fallen Fort Riley Soldiers, featuring photos and biographies. Attendees can also customize their running bibs with Soldiers’ names and decorations.

Free registration begins at 8:00 a.m. with opening remarks and the national anthem scheduled for 9:00 a.m.. The four mile participants will start at 9:11 a.m. with the two mile participants starting at 9:20 a.m..
