Teacher contract negotiators in Geary USD 475 have reached a tentative agreement on those contracts for the 2014-15 school year.

It includes an approximate 2.8% pay raise for teachers, although those raises will vary some by position.

Cathy Rankin, Junction City Education Association President, said the next step is for the proposed contract to go to the JCEA Board for approval. “Next week on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday we take it out to the teachers so they can vote on it. And after that it goes to the Board of Education.”

If the teachers approve the agreement it would be considered for final approval by the Board of Education in a meeting on May 19.
