Sheriff’s Department Works Injury Accidents

badge formGeary County Sheriff’s Deputies worked an injury accident at J-Hill Road and Smith Road on Monday.

According to the Sheriff’s Department Joseph Mosley of Junction City was traveling southbound on a Kawasaki motorcycle when he lost control of the motorcycle, and fell off of it, sliding onto the roadway. Trent Jones of Fort Riley was traveling in the same direction on a Suzuki motorcycle when Mosley lost control. Jones attempted to avoid him and also lost control of his motorcycle, fell off, and slid into the roadway.

Mosley sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital. Jones was evaluated and released at the scene.

Deputies responded to an injury accident at US 77, mile marker 157.

Carol Calkins was northbound in a Buick Lucerne when she stopped behind another vehicle negotiating a left turn. Mikayla Antoszyk was also traveling northbound in a Chrysler PT Cruiser behind Calkins, and hit the rear end of Calkins’ vehicle. A juvenile in the PT Cruiser sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
