The Junction City Blue Jay golf team finished sixth out of nine teams in the Centennial League Golf Tournament at Stagg Hill Golf Course near Manhattan.
Coach Tim Hickert reported that Washburn Rural captured the team title with the overall score of 299. Manhattan was second with a score of 309, followed by Seaman at 318, Hayden 328, Shawnee Heights 340, Junction City 345, Topeka West 352, Emporia 358, and Topeka High 385. Centennial League member Highland Park does not field a golf team.
For the Blue Jays in the individual competition Minwook “Steve” Kim placed 13th with a round of 80, good enough to medal.
Madison Roether fired a round of 87, Shane Lee 87, Dalton Senesac 91, Trey Reynolds 94, and T.J. Allen a 97 for Junction City.
The Blue Jays host the JCHS Invitational Thursday at Rolling Meadows Golf Course.
