Fort Riley economic impact numbers have been released to area community leaders.

The Fort Riley Net Public Benefit included estimated revenue from all forms of taxes. The total from Soldiers and Department of the Army Civilians associated with Fort Riley  for fiscal year 2013 was estimated at more than $8.1 million.

The totals were Geary County $3,965,000, Riley County $2,908,000, Dickinson County $560,000, Clay County $265,000, Pottawatomie County $171,000, Morris County $129,000, Wabaunsee County $39,000, and Saline County $28,000.

The Economic Impact report for the Post also shows $1.25 billion in payroll, $251.7 million in supplies, services, and contracts, $153.5 million in construction, and $13.9 million in federal impact aid to schools.
