State Representative Allan Rothlisberg of Grandview Plaza is looking into the possibility of trying to develop a Manhattan Area Technical College satellite campus in Junction City.

At this point he has only had preliminary email contact on this subject with the president of the college.

“We do need to start training people in certain things. There’s a shortage of welders, a shortage of machinists. Rothlisberg added, “If we have a trained work force I think we might have a better shot of getting business to come here.”

Rothlisberg said he will set up a meeting to see what Manhattan Area Technical College would require to undertake a satellite campus.  He wants to learn what type of facilities would be needed.
