The Kansas Jayhawks used a home run in the second inning and a sacrifice fly in the fifth to build a 2-0 lead over Kansas State. The lead held up in a 2- 1 KU victory at Tointon Family Stadium in Manhattan.
With the win the Jayhawks took two out of three in the weekend series.
According to k-statesports.com it was K-State’s first series loss against a Big 12 opponent since April of 2012 against Oklahoma State.
Nate Griep took the pitching loss to fall to 3-1 on the season. KU’s Frank Duncan was the winning pitcher.
