The I-70 construction project in Dickinson County is underway according to a press release from the Kansas Department of Transportation.
All traffic has been moved to the new east bound lanes in a head to head arrangement. West
bound traffic is in the passing lane of the eastbound lanes. The head to head arrangement begins at the east end of the project with the traffic moving back onto the westbound lanes at the I-70/Jeep Road interchange.
Eastbound traffic wanting to exit at Jeep Road will need to continue east to the I-70/K-43 interchange exit and reenter I-70 westbound then exit at Jeep Road.
K-43 (Mink Road) was closed Monday, March 24th, to allow for the westbound I-70/K-43 interchange bridge to be removed. Ramps remained open throughout the removal of the bridge. Plans now call for the debris to be removed and k-43/Mink Road to be reopened to through traffic sometime Friday evening.
