The Manhattan Indians girls basketball team fell to Maize in the semifinal round of the Class 6A State Basketball Tournament by a score of 42-35.

In other state tournament games involving area teams  the Concordia boys fell to Scott City in the semifinals of the Class 4A Division Two tournament 77-75, Highland Park defeated Hays 48-40 in the boys 5A tournament semi’s, and Hesston downed Council Grove 42-27 in the girls Class 3A tournament semifinals.

State championship and third place consolation games are Saturday.
