The Corps of Engineers put the boat docks back in place at their facilities at Milford Lake on Tuesday. Those sites are at Curtis Creek, West Rolling Hills, and Farnum Creek boat docks, said the Corps’ Project Operations Manager at the Lake, R. J. Harms.

“We pushed the slide-in docks back in and the ice finally left the coves enough that we could go and open those back up.”

Harms said it’s been a long winter. “And we’ve probably seen ice on the Lake longer this winter than I can remember, certainly since I’ve been here since 2006. Pretty much the Lake iced over about Christmas time.  It just recently, in the last week or so its really kind of opened up now looks like.”

The boat ramps have been closed for about two and a half months, which is somewhat unusual at Milford Lake. Harms noted the Lake has been iced up solid for two months.
