The NBAF marketing committee within the Junction City Economic Development Commission is still researching whether a trip to New York would be beneficial.

The NBAF facility being built in Manhattan will replace the facility at Plum Island, New York.

Susan Jagerson, EDC Specialists, has been researching the Plum Island and Long Island area,”if it would be feasible, if it would be sensible, to go out to Plum Island or go out to the Long Island area and visit some of the companies out there and see what some of their intentions are when they do start moving this way.”

Others around the region feel that it is unnecessary to travel to New York, according to Ben kitchens, EDC Chairman.

“We are learning that out for ourselves at this point in time by making some calls. There are some clusters of technology oriented companies, Susan is just getting involved in contacting those,” Kitchens said.

Jagerson also explained that the site consultant that was scheduled to come to Junction City had to reschedule for the end of April instead of March.

“The 22nd through 24th of April, and we will be contacting people about being involved in those meetings and giving their feedback to him when he comes to the area,” Jagerson said.
