The Wichita Southeast Golden Buffaloes( 16-5 ) used a 15-0 run to begin the second quarter and rolled on to a 69-48 Substate Tournament basketball victory over the Junction City Blue Jays Thursday night.

The two teams met in the first round of the Class 6A Substate Tournament at Wichita Southeast.’

After trailing by 19 in the first half, and 12 points at halftime, the Blue Jays closed the gap to eight points in the third quarter. Southeast used another strong early in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

Jerrick Harding led the Golden Buffaloes with 21 points, including two three point baskets. Wichita Southeast hit a total of seven three-point shots in the first half but none over the course of the final two quarters.

Danny Thornton led the Blue Jays ( 6-15 ) with 11 points in the ballgame. The loss ended the season for Junction City.
