The Geary County Rural Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near mile marker 311 Thursday afternoon. 

According to Brian Clark, Assistant Fire Chief, the engine compartment on a small Subaru pick up truck was on fire. It took crews approximately a half hour to fight the fire and clean the accident scene.

No injuries were reported.

Traffic was down to one lane but has since been re-opened to both lanes.
