Junction City Police Chief, Tim Brown said he was impressed with the cooperation and work that the citizens of Junction City did while recovering from Tuesday’s snow storm.

During Thursday nights City Commission meeting brown told the commission he was impressed with how the citizens handled themselves.
“Citizens stepped up to help people push out of the snow banks. No disturbances, no fights, no nothing. It was just very well behaved citizenry and helping your neighbors out. All in all, the event was unremarkable and that’s the way it should be.”
Brown did mention though that the department did have to tow a number of vehicles while the city’s traffic snow emergency was in place. Tuesday extra officers were brought in to enforce the emergency.
“Over the course of Tuesday they went on all of the snow routes and if they were properly signed, as most of them were, we made our due diligence by attempting to contact either by telephone or by going up and knocking on the door of the people who’s cars were out there on the emergency snow routes. By the end of the day we had towed 14 cars and issued 15 citations.”
He also mentioned an additional four cars were towed and issued citations on Wednesday as well.
The traffic snow emergency was in place from midnight Monday night through Thursday afternoon.
