Junction City Police confirm a Fort Riley soldier, Steven C. Bennett as shot in the leg at 11 Fuller Circle Monday evening.

Police responded to the scene just after 5:30 p.m.. Upon arrival they found Bennett suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

He was transported to Geary Community Hospital and then later transferred to Via Christi Hospital in Wichita.

The incident is under investigation.
