Kansas State’s ten game win streak came to an end Saturday in the 278th Sunflower Showdown at Kansas losing 86-60.
The Wildcats shot 44 percent from the field compared to 56 percent by the Jayhawks. K-State struggled from three point range
making only 1-11. The Wildcats only had two players scoring in double figures, Nino Williams who had 12 and Thomas Gipson who had 10.
KU was led by their freshman Andrew Wiggins with 22 points and Wayne Selden Jr. with 20 points.
K-State matched KU in the first ten minutes but then the Jayhawks went on back to back 9-2 runs to break away and never looked back.
The Wildcats will return home Tuesday night to take on the Oklahoma Sooners at Bramlage Coliseum. The Jayhawks only have a day break before going to Iowa State to take on the Cyclones on Monday.
