The Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce will be focusing on industrial growth in 2014.
Tom Weigand, Chamber CEO, said that in 2014 the chamber is planning to bring
in site consultants, “We’ll give them a tour, they’ll give us feedback on what we have available here. Link them with our community so that we come up on their radar screen when they have companies looking to relocate to Kansas.”
Weigand did say that they will focus on bring in industries linked to the National Bio and Agro Defense facility being built in Manhattan.
“We’ll take advantage of the NBAF construction and what that will mean throughout the region as well as the animal health corridor and all of the things associated with that,” Weigand said.
Weigand did say that the current industries in the area are continuing to do well and he plans to present his plans for 2014 to the Junction City and Geary County Commissions sometime after the first of the year.
