More than $50,000 was the fundraising total for the Holiday Glitz in Junction City Saturday.

The money will help the Martha K. Hoover Women’s Health Center. The Glitz is coordinated by the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation. Jolana Montgomery-Matney is the Executive Director for the foundation.
“I was completely surprised. I honestly did not expect to raise that much money this year,” Montgomery-Matney said. “I am just thrilled. Thrilled with those that come to the event understanding that it is a fundraiser and they open their hearts and their pocket books to what we are trying to help at the hospital.”

Approximately 175 guests attended the event at the Courtyard by Marriott-Geary County Convention Center.
A live auction during the Glitz raised $8,575. Evergreen wreath centerpieces were sold following the auction for an additional $3,300.
The over $50,000 raised adds on to an impressive fundraising total accrued over the past 23 years. “Up to this year, not including this year, $675,000. If you add $50,000 onto that, that is $725,000 the Glitz has returned to Geary Community Hospital in the last 23 years,” Montgomery-Matney said.
