The 1st Infantry Division Band will perform jointly with members of the Junction City Community Band during  holiday concerts at the C. L. Hoover Opera House on Saturday Dec. 14.

There will be two performances, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Admission is free but tickets are required due to space constraints at the Opera House.

Each show will last a little over one hour, and will feature all of the current musical ensembles that comprise the 1st Infantry Division Band. They will play holiday music and patriotic music that defines military musicians with the featured Armed Forces Salute.   The concert will include a holiday sing-along, and a special visitor from the North Pole.

The concerts will also serve as a collection venue for new, un-wrapped toys to benefit Fort Riley’s annual Operation Santa Claus fundraiser.

The 1st Infantry Division Band performs throughout Kanssas, while the Junction City Community Band is an all-volunteer ensemble of musicians — 9th grade through adult — from Junction City, Fort Riley, and beyond.
