A suspect being pursued by law enforcement authorities escaped Tuesday evening in Junction City

The Geary County Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of North Jackson Street and attempted to arrest the driver, identified as Al Gerone Johnson Jr., at which time Johnson allegedly resisted arrest and fled on foot.

A handgun and marijuana packaged for sale were found, but Johnson was not located.

Junction City police reported in this case there was a foot pursuit, additional units including K-9 and police were requested, but the suspect was still at large.
