The Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has approved a motion to endorse a casino resolution.

A check with the Chamber office revealed the vote was 7-1-1 during a Board meeting Tuesday morning.  Board member Robert Munson voted no and board member Steve Locke abstained.

The action by the Chamber Board comes ahead of the Junction City Commission Tuesday evening. The governing body will consider recomfirming a resolution of support for a gaming facility that was adopted by the Commission one year ago.

State Representative Allan Rothlisberg has introduced legislation that would have Geary County designated as the site for a future state-owned casino. He expects to obtain a hearing on that bill before a Kansas House committee in February.
