A 5th grade teacher at Franklin Elementary in Junction City passed away over the weekend.

According to a release from Geary USD 475, the school district was notified Saturday of the passing of Jennifer Cooper.

The school district released the following statement,”We extended our deepest sympathy to those who have been affected.”

Counseling services have been coordinated at Franklin Elementary, the Freshman Success Academy and Junction City Middle School Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m.

Calling hours have been scheduled for Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel
on South Washington in Junction City. A private family service will be held on Saturday.
