Kary Dejuan “Dee” Tolbert a native of the Dawes Community and a resident of Grand Bay, AL was called from this earthly scene on Monday, October 21, 2013. He was the oldest child born to Doris Tolbert Hampton on November 7, 1962.

Dee was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Grand Bay, AL. He graduated from Junction City High School in Junction City, KS in 1981 and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy serving our great country for three years. He worked as a skycap at Mobile Municipal Airport for 17 years and as a landscaper/handyman with Bill Shivers for more than 10 years.

Kary’s life and memories are survived by his mother, Doris Tolbert Hampton of Dacula, GA; brother, Rodney Tolbert of Atlanta, GA; sister, Inga (Joshua) Wright of Dacula, GA; grandmother, Mattie S. Tolbert of Grand Bay, AL; aunt, Tawanna Tolbert of Mobile, AL; four uncles, Rufus (Shirley) Tolbert, Jr., Alfred Tolbert and Terrance (Karonda) Tolbert all of Grand Bay, AL and Felton (Judy) Tolbert of Mobile, AL; nieces, Deja Crable, Dakota Wright and Alexis Wright; nephew, Adrian Tolbert; great niece, Jessica Taylor Tolbert; great aunts, Edna Abrams, Lee Grant Wright, Verna Cephas, Joyce Tolbert, Jean Tolbert and Nadine Showers; great uncle, Curtis Tolbert; and a host of other cousins and friends.

A Viewing will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Christian Benevolent Funeral Home, 201 N. Hamilton Street, Mobile, AL. Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 11:00, immediately following the 9-11 a.m. viewing at Providence Baptist Church, 11851 Providence Church Road, Grand Bay, AL.
