The Junction City High School Blue Jay Marching Band earned a 1 ( superior ) rating at the Central States Marching Festival this past Saturday ( Oct. 19 ) at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan. 

Forty-two high school bands from across Kansas performed, one every 15 minutes. Each band was rated in five categories: marching, music, general effect, percussion, and flags. The Blue Jay Marching Band performed its “That Rockin’ Blue Jay Beat” show which included “Beat It,” “The Beat Goes On,” “Rock It,” & “You Can’t Stop the Beat.”

The band travels to Andover High School for the Southern Plains Marching Festival on Wednesday, October 30.
