The Junction City Lady Jay varsity cross country team finished fourth out of 15 teams at the El Dorado Invitational on Saturday.
Rosie Hollis earned a medal for Junction City with a 16th place finish with a personal record time of 15:27.
The Blue Jay boys were without three varsity runners due to injury….Evan Hallum, Anthony Deltufo, and Gabe Padilla. So coach Rebecca Steiger explained the varsity lineup was different, with Nasheem Green, J’Quan Robinson, and Jason Carter all stepping up to run in that race. Junction City finished 13th out of 17 teams.
In the j-v boys race Matthew Champagne finished third overall out of 121 runners with a time of 17:53.
And in the C-team boys race with 71 runners the Blue Jay squad finished second overall and took home two medals. Juan Santillan, sophomore, finished fourth and Xavier Obregon, freshman, finished seventh. Both received medals.
