Ryan Mueller wanted Kansas State to defeat Baylor for the seniors on last year’s Wildcat football team.
But it didn’t turn out the way he wanted, as Baylor left Manhattan with a 35-25 win over the Wildcats on Saturday.
The K-State defensive end stripped the ball from Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty with 6:22 remaining in the third quarter that set up a Kansas State scoring drive, and he recorded seven tackles, including five solo tackles and two assists.
After the game on Saturday Mueller noted he remembered the game last season where Baylor knocked off Kansas State. The loss knocked the Wildcats out of a push for a possible berth in the national championship game. “I just remember the feeling I had last year we played them….in the locker room it was just devastating. I tried to play for all the seniors last year. I wanted to dedicate the game and the performance to them. I’m sorry we couldn’t get it done because I know each and every one of them were watching the game. I’m sorry we couldn’t get it done.”
The Wildcats fell to 2-4 with the loss while Baylor is now 6-0.
