An accident involving a dump truck and a pick up truck was reported on Highway 57 just north of Junction City.
According to Junction City Fire Chief, Kevin Royse, the accident occurred at approximately 2:00 p.m. and one victim was entrapped in a vehicle. “Extrication operations were needed to free the serious patient,” Royse said.
Garry Berges, Geary County Emergency Management Director, confirmed that the accident involved a dump truck and a pick up truck.” Junction City Fire/EMS had to extricate the driver of the pick up truck,” Berges said. ” It took about 15 minutes or so. The subject was then life flighted by Life Star to KU Med Center in Kansas City.”
The driver of the dump truck was not listed as injured. The Geary County Sheriffs Department is investigating the accident. No other information has been released at this time.
