Just after 7 a.m. Thursday Riley County police confirmed very heavy rain in Manhattan and the town of Riley.
The National Weather Service has issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for central Riley County until 9:30 a.m. Heavy rain has caused minor street flooding near the Kansas State University campus.

The Riley County police dispatch has reported that southbound traffic at Humboldt and Juliette in Manhattan is closed. Crews were working on a water main yesterday at that location, and that left a hole in the street. The storm has blown away the cones around that hole. Authorities are on site diverting traffic Thursday morning.
The RCPD dispatch has also confirmed water is accumulating on the exit onto Third Street off Tuttle Creek Boulevard on the east side of Manhattan. Motorists are urged not to exit southbound off Tuttle Creek Boulevard onto Third Street.
Dispatch also said there had been a report of hail at Fort Riley Boulevard and South Juliette in Manhattan.

No storm warnings are in place, but the police dispatch confirmed Anderson Avenue coming out of Keats west of Manhattan was beginning to get some water accumulation on it.
Earlier in the morning there was a severe thunderstorm warning farther north and west ineast-central Clay and west-central Riley Counties.
