Jammin’ in JC Wraps Up Two Night Run

Organizers estimate approximately 6,000 people attended the third annual Jammin’ in JC in Junction City. festival

The two day Blues and Barbecue festival wrapped up Saturday night with a crowd of about 2,500 people, down about 1,000 from the turnout Friday evening.

Coordinator Bob Cevera felt the festival went well, noting the weather cooperated. He wasn’t sure why there was less turnout on Saturday evening. “Trampled Under Foot out of Kansas City is definitely a great regional draw. A lot of people may have come Friday night and just didn’t come back Saturday.” Cevera added he was not disappointed with the overall turning, noting it compared to 5,000 the first year of Jammin’ in JC and 7,000 last year.

Cevera said, “The vendors were very happy.” He referred to Munson Angus Farms who sold out of steaks immediately Friday night after it was announced the steaks were on sale. Cevera added beer sales were strong, and the civic organizations who sold food informed him they were making a lot of money.

The festival wrapped up a bit earlier than scheduled on  Saturday evening, about 9 p.m.
