Roughly 3,500 people were in Heritage Park Friday night for night one of Jammin’ in JC Blues and Barbecue Festival.
Bob Cevera, Festival Organizer, called it,”Probably the best Friday night crowd we’ve had so far.” He went on to say the response’s he had heard had all been positive, “I’ve talked to the police officers and they’ve said what a fun event no problems. Everybody’s just out there listening to the music and eating some food.”
This was Jonathon “Boogey” Longs second year performing at the festival and said he loves just walking through the crowd, ” Just walking around the crowd, meeting the people. The kids, there were a couple kids that came up to the front of the stage and I got to throw them a couple of guitar picks and stuff and they always come up and meet me. That’s cool to inspire the kids and stuff.”
The festival picks right back up Saturday with the barbecue contest and more music starting at noon.
