Legislation Would Protect Military Paychecks

U. S. Senators Jerry Moran ( R ) of Kansas and Mark Udall ( D ) of Colorado have introduced bipartisan legislation to ensure the nation’s military families will not have their paychecks delayed in the event of a government shutdown.

This Military Pay Protection Act will also cover National Guard units assisting in disaster recovery.

Moran said the financial well-being and readiness of those serving our country must not suffer due to gridlock on Capitol Hill. He added as indecision continues this legislation will give military members, critical civilian workers, and National Guard assisting in disaster relief the certainty they deserve.
