Chapman High School Blue Ribbon Award Winner

Chapman High School has been named the recipient of a 2013 National Blue Ribbon Awardchs

The announcement was made Tuesday morning U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan in Washington D.C.

Chapman High School is one of only five schools in Kansas and 286 in the nation to receive the Blue Ribbon Award designation this year. The others in Kansas included Campus High School in Wichita, West Franklin High School in Pomona, Oswego Neosho Heights Elementary School in Oswego, and Mission Trail Elementary School in Leawood.

Chapman High School Principal Kevin Suther issued a statement saying the school will be honored in November in Washington D.C.  He congratulated all the teachers and administrators in USD 473 for making the Chapman school system “one of the highest recognized schools in the nation for academics and well-rounded education.”  Suther added.  “This takes not only teachers and administrators, but all the parents and students themselves who truly have that Irish Pride.”
