The annual Geary County Historical Society Ice Cream Social featured the music of Junction City High School groups and Steve Fanzler of Chapman, Munson Angus Beef homemade ice cream, pies, and cakes.   The opening of the new Playtime Exhibit in the Museum Auditorium was also held in conjunction with the Social.

The exhibit items ranged from the original GI Joe to Barbies dating back to the 1950’s and an Easy Bake oven.

Good weather greeted the three-hour event, and good attendance.

Sara Moppin, Museum Director, estimated after about two hours the attendance had reached the 250 to 300 people mark. “The clouds cleared off, the sun came out, and we’ve had a wonderful group all day long.”

The event raises money to help support Museum operations.
