Friday was the first day of the Kansas State Fair and the Geary County Convention and Visitors Bureau booth had large crowds throughout the day.
Connie Hall, CVB Director, said that the Pride of Kansas Building, where the CVB’s booth is
located, opened earlier this year,” Normally this building opens at 11 a.m. and they opened it early at 9 a.m. today (Friday) and we’ve been crowded ever since.”
She mentioned that a lot of questions that the CVB has been asked revolve around Milford Lake and Jammin’ in JC Blues and Barbecue Festival, “We’re getting a lot of information out.”
This year the CVB reserved a second booth space and offered it out to local business’ to use. The Hampton Inn utilized the booth space Friday. Carolyn Kelly, Hampton Inn Manager, said that having a booth has it’s benefits,”People are going to know now that Junction City has a Hampton Inn, a Hilton product. It gives us a chance to highlight our hotel and also talk about Junction City and how much we’re wanting to be apart of the Community.”
This years fair runs through September 15th. The CVB will have both booths for the total length of the fair.
