The Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce will be participating in the regional Leader’s Retreat with Manhattan and Wamego Chambers of Commerce in January in Overland Park.

But instead of devoting part of the time to a Junction City only session during that regional event the chamber will hold a pre-meeting prior to the retreat.

Chamber CEO Tom Weigand said it will be one or two days prior to the Overland Park session. ” To keep our costs down. To rent a room for a morning was $2200 bucks I think last year. We’re not going to do that again. We’re going to have it here. We’re going to talk about our issues and then we’re going to take to those to the region, and see how we can cooperate and work together on that.”

The regional retreat typically is held over the course of two days in Overland Park.
