A 46-year old Topeka man was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita following a head-on collision on I-70 seven miles east of Abilene in Dickinson County Sunday night.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported Alonzo Lax, 46, Topeka was taken to Wesley Medical Center while another person involved in the accident Bruce Uhlenkamp of Central City, Iowa suffered a possible injury.

Uhlenkamp was driving an Internatonal semi-truck which was westbound in a construction zone. Lax was driving a Monte Carlo which was eastbound in the westbound lanes. Both vehicles collided head on.

The accident was reported at 10:35 p.m. on Sunday.
