Geary County Sheriff is planning more town hall meetings

Daniel Jackson

Geary County Sheriff Daniel Jackson informed the JC Breakfast Optimist Club this week that he wants to build confidence and trust, not only among his law enforcement team, but also to the public. Quarterly town hall meetings have been scheduled, with the next one being in October. The information on the place, date and time will be announced at a later date.

Jackson also updated the club on improvements to the jail, work space and Sheriff’s Department facilities since he took office. The improvements have been paid for by asset forfeiture money rather than taxpayer funds. Some of those improvements include boats and equipment for the new water rescue team, a work out space for officers to maintain their fitness, computers in all cars, less lethal force pepper ball guns and updates to the jail, office area work space and the elevator in the building.
