Children’s Mercy Junction City is now offering weekend Urgent Care services. The hours on both Saturday and Sunday will be noon to 6 p.m. at the Children’s Mercy location at Geary Community Hospital.

Pediatric specialists will provide care for patients that require prompt medical treatment when their primary care provider’s offices may be closed.  The Urgent Care Center is designed for pediatric patients up to their 18th birthday, and specializes in illnesses and injuries that are not life threatening. They can treat conditions such as ear aches, fever, flu, skin rashes, stomach ache, sprains and minor cuts and burns.

Children’s Mercy noted that the Urgent Care team communicates back to the child’s primary care provider, as well as sending labs and radiology results, for the best continuity of care and appropriate follow up.
