The Junction City Lady Jay tennis team traveled to Manhattan on Tuesday for a quadrangular with Manhattan, Washburn Rural and Marysville.
Coach Matt Micheel said the competition was tough on the Lady Jays as they were able to pick up only a single win. That came from the doubles team of Anna Torres and Avery Jacobsen, as they won a match at #2 doubles vs Marysville.
Lady Jay players played in a mixture of singles and doubles positions on the day. Other players participating in the event for Junction City High School were Krysta Talley, Sierra Stage, Juliauna Throckmorton and Elyse Nguyen.
Manhattan won the event with 11 wins, followed by Washburn Rural (9), Marysville (3) and Junction City (1). The Lady Jays next travel to Olathe Northwest for a quadrangular on Thursday, September 19. Matches will be played at the College Boulevard Activity Center and will start at 3 pm.
